This event is in memory of all cyclists who have lost their lives over the years but especially in memory of the late Randall Februarie of the Phoenix Cycling Club.

Handicap for the Youth events – the younger age groups will start first with the older riders having to chase to close the gap.

City Cycling & Athletic Club are travelling all the way from Cape Town to be the hosts of this WP Cycling Road League event.
The route is a mixture of rolling hills on the one side and a flat sometimes windy section called ‘Waaihoek’ on the other side. The race will cross the Breede River by using the low cement bridge. Please keep on checking social media should this area experience heavy rains.

We hitting the Wall again
Spring is upon us and so too is the Western Cape Track Championships. With 2 events remaining before the champs, things can only get better from here onward.
Next track event is taking place on 11 September 2018 at the famous Bellville Velodrome stadium.
BIG 5 series
This is a series where clubs compete in the Team Sprint event over a 5 part series where the club setting the fastest time will be crowned as the winner of this series. Clubs are encourage to enter their teams for this event which not only serves as good training for WC champs but also for SA Track Championships.
From Track classic #10 – #12 we will have a BIG 3 Series for sprinters where the same format will apply.

The Rotary Club of Blouberg is proud to announce a family cycle festival at Killarney race course on Sunday, 16 September 2018.
Entertainment for the whole family, which includes a Spring market, truckers and a toy run.
All proceeds go to Tygerberg Children’s Hospital.

General rules
No helmet, no ride!
Timing chips, numbers and goodies bags are to be collected at Eaglevlei Restaurant before the start of the event – please arrive in time to do this.
A certain amount of team cars and back up vehicles will be allowed to follow each category – please attend the team managers meeting – Team Managers and drivers of back up vehicles with a Team Managers CSA license is a non negotiable requirement.
Cyclopaths Cycling Club are hosting their inaugural Heritage Tour stage race over the long weekend of the 22,23 and 24 September 2018.
The Race Permanence will be at Eaglevlei Restaraunt on the R101 towards Klapmuts. All the stages will depart and return to Eaglevlei via Malmsbury. Two of the stages will also include the climb up Bothmaskloof Pass.
The event forms part of the WP Road Racing League 2018. Overall General Classification will count for points in the WP Road Racing League for all Categories.

Stage one (brief description) – departs Eaglevlei to Klapmuts R44, race takes a left onto Paardeberg rd, right onto Slent Rd then left onto the R45 towards Malmesbury, right turn to Riebeeck Kasteel and over Bothmaskloof, back to Wellington , right onto R44, left onto Fairview Rd, right onto R101, up to Klapmuts intersection and finish.
Stage two (Brief description) – Departs Eaglevlei to Klapmuts R44, thru Wellington to Hermon , Bothmaskloof, left towards Wellington and turn right onto Slent then left onto R304 at the Silos and back to Eaglevlei .
Stage three (Brief description) – Depart Eaglevlei to Malmsbury via R304/302 , thru Malmsbury and back towards Wellington,before Wellington turn right onto Slent then left onto R304 and back to Eaglevlei

Calm before the storm
The last chance for riders to test their racing fitness before the big one, Western Cape Championships from 6-7 October 2018 at the house of pain, Bellville Velodrome.
Big 3 Series
We will also start with our sprinters series where sprinters compete over 3 events (classic 10-12) in the hope to set the fastest time over these 3 events. Sprinters its your time to “bring it on”.
BIG 5 Series
After 2 events, Club EGK/Rhadsport is leading the BIG 5 Series followed by Bellville, TCSA and Kinetic. Remember the club setting the fastest time over the 5 event series will win the BIG 5 TS Series.

Club 100 are hosting this event as Road Racing returns to the South Peninsula. This road race has it all. A major climb, fast downhills and deceptive flats.
As mentioned previously we are meeting with the authorities in the week to iron out any issue which might prevent us from racing.
WP Cycling are also requesting that if the event does take place, participants that have been ‘dropped’ from the main racing bunch complete the event at a recreational pace and obey all road signs.

Collection of Race Numbers
A valid Cycling SA license/proof of license must be presented on collection. Your license will be returned once you hand in your race number back at the end of the competition. Numbers can be collected at the event registration table from 7.45am on 06 October and 8.45am on 07 October 2018. NO LICENCE, NO RIDE!
Pursuits and Team sprints
Teams must submit their names at registration and Madison numbers can be collected on
Sunday 7 October 2018.
Parking
All riders will have to part outside in the public parking areas. Inside parking is reserved for officials and organizers.
The security has been instructed not to allow unauthorized vehicles inside the stadium. This is to allow emergency vehicles unobstructed access.
