Yes we moving to the land of the vineyards and sunshine, the place where there is no hiding from the wind whilst racing around the track. Our first Paarl track event in the Revolution Track League series will take place on 14 November 2020 at the famous Faure Stadium in Paarl.

  • R100-00 Open/Vets & Ladies. Late entries R120-00

We want to encourage riders to make use of the online entry system and avoid paying late entry fees.

Parking

Only officials and staff are allowed to park inside the venue.

Here we go again

With the upcoming Grand Prix taking place on 28 November in GP we had to move the 4th leg of the Revolution Track league series to 5 December 2020 at the Bellville Velodrome. And just when you think you can put your bike away we will be at it again the following weekend 12 December 2020 also at the Velodrome.

Keep in mind that the Boxing Day Track event has been cancelled so these two events will be the last track events of the league for 2020.

Here we go again. Just when you thought you can put your bike away we at it again. The final event of the league for 2020, Revolution Track League #5 on 12 December 2020 at 2pm.

We will continue with the league in 2021, with 3 legs remaining in the series.

Keep in mind that the Boxing Day Track event has been cancelled.

WP & CW Grand Prix 2020 @ Bellville Velodrome

Western Province Cycling together with Cape Winelands is proud to announce it’s annual Grand Prix which will take place on 16 December 2020. The WPCA has again offered to host the event at the Bellville Velodrome.

This event is aimed at riders wanting to be selected for the SA team who will compete in the Continental African Champs and Junior World Track Championships next year. Riders who perform well on the day, their names will go onto a LONG LIST which will assist in them in being selected for SA team. However the list is not a guarantee that a rider will make the team, selection will only be done after the SA Track Championships in Pietermaritzburg in 2020.

The Grand Prix will run on an Omnium basis where the rider who scores the most points will be declared the winner in the respective categories.

Collection of Race Numbers

A valid Cycling SA membership/license must be presented on collection. Please remember to you hand in your race number back at the end of the competition. Numbers can be collected at the event registration table from 7.30 am on 16 December. NO LICENCE, NO RIDE!

Parking

All riders will have to part outside in the public parking areas.  Inside parking is reserved for officials and organizers.
The security has been instructed not to allow unauthorized vehicles inside the stadium. This is to allow emergency vehicles unobstructed access.

As per the current Covid19 protocols NO SPECTATORS will be allowed at the 2020 PAARL 6.

Thus, only Staff, Marshalls, Officials, Emergency Services, the Media, Participants & Support Staff (Mechanics, Coaches, Team Managers)

With this in mind, PAARL 6, will still be able to take place, unless the President announces anything different this evening.

***The PAARL 6 organizing committee is happy to continue with the event depending on participant entry numbers. Please advise all clubs/teams of this and to get entries in by 18h00 on Thursday, 17 December 2020.***

PAARL 6 will be Livestreamed, thus parents and other keen spectators will still be able to watch the event live.

Just an idea…Parents may drop & collect participants at stadium and place them in the care of Club Representatives/Support Staff.

Covid19 Registration & Screening will be done before entering the stadium.

Revolution Track League #6

After a very long delay due to the Covid19 crisis we are finally back to riding the “Wall”. The 6th event of the Revolution Track League will also be the last in the series as the series were supposed to finish in February already. The annual Jeanne Nell Memorial Track Classic will form part of this event.

Tea Cup

Sprinters will have to opportunity to compete for the famous Jeanne Nell Memorial Trophy (Tea Cup) which was won by Bernard Esterhuizen last year. (2 events – sprint qualifiers & Keirin)

The top placings is being heavily contested in certain categories with only a few points separating the top spots, whereas in other categories some riders will have to compete for the minor placings.

Presented by Computer Mania and hosted on the home grounds of Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club, SA XCO#3 & WC XCO#2 (UCI Cat 1), takes place at Bloemendal, Durbanville on 17 April 2021.

On 18 April 2021 there will be a WC XCO#3 (UCI Cat 2) for Sub-Jnr, Youth, Junior and Elite, (Women and Men). Please note that you need to do a separate entry for the race on the 18th.

Foreign nationals and others with valid reasons for not having Cycling South Africa Membership/ Licences may purchase a day licence at registration or via the entry process in order to race.

Compulsory Practice:      It is compulsory for Nippers and Sprogs to practice the course at the official practice on the day before the race (Friday) and checking will be done.  This is for their safety – to give parents and riders the opportunity to identify which obstacles riders are not competent to ride and to ensure that they do not get lost on route !

2021 WC XCO#3 @ Bloemendal Wine Estate

Presented by Computer Mania and hosted on the home grounds of Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club, WC XCO#3 (UCI Cat 2), takes place at Bloemendal, Durbanville on 18 April 2021. Racing categories on the 18th is for the Sub-Jnr, Youth, Junior and Elites (Women and Men).

The relay race on the 18th will be a fun event for all primary school children (13yrs & under). The relay event will consist of 4 riders, boys and girls teams. It will be on the short course and the aim is to see which team can complete the most number of laps in 45 minutes.

Sports Class: Open to all and will be 4 laps of the short course.

Slanghoek Road Race 2021 @ EikeSaal

We’re back in the beautiful Slanghoek Valley for our next race.  Please note our new registration and parking venue at Eike Saal.

The route is a mixture of rolling hills on the one side and a flat sometimes windy section called ‘Waaihoek’ on the other side. The race will cross the Breede River by using the low cement bridge. Please keep on checking social media should this area experience heavy rains.

Entry will close 9h00 on Friday 21 May. No later entries will be possible after this time.

Cat2: You have to select Cat2 – Long (for 120km) or Cat 2 (for 80km).
