This is a provincial race and sanctioned under Cycling South Africa, therefore the applicable rules by CSA, and by extension the UCI, will apply.
Participants are encouraged to have a CSA Full Domestic Racing License to qualify for titles, medals and jerseys, but the alternatives are listed below. In each case a reference to the CSA General Organisation of the Sport, Part 1, applies;
- CSA Membership
- Masters (as per 1.3.2.2 and 1.3.2.2.1) – Master (Veteran) cyclists do not require a Full Racing Licence in order to be eligible to participate in the Provincial Championships but are required to hold Full Racing Licence in order to be eligible for medals, provincial colours or a podium position in the Provincial Championships;
- Others (as per 1.3.3.2) – A cyclist holding a Membership Licence may compete in Provincial Championships but will not be eligible for a medal, jersey or podium position. In this race we have no other special provisions in terms of recognition for CSA members.
- Day Licenses (as per 1.3.4.2): In all other events [non-national events], cyclists may participate with a Day Licence, issued by the relevant Provincial Body.
However, as per 1.3.2.2: Cyclists in the Elite, Under 23 and Junior age categories are required to be in possession of a Full Racing Licence when competing for prize money in any cycling event sanctioned by Cycling SA or in the Provincial or National Championships within these respective age categories.

The WP Road Commission will host a 2 Day Stage Race on the 28th and 29th April 2018.
The rider with the with the lowest cumulative time to complete both stages will be declared the overall, or General Classification (GC), winner.

The Third Race of the SRAM WC XCO Series, in association with Tygerberg MTB Club takes place at Slanghoek Mountain Resort in the Rawsonville Area on the 13th of May 2018.
Online Entries

The race entry fee is R 130 for Nippers and Sprogs and R 240 for all other age groups.
Series Membership and Entry Fee: There is a Seasonal Series Membership of R220 per rider that is payable by Western Cape Riders who did not pay it at XCO#2 at Rhebokskloof. Each rider gets a goodie-bag and entry onto the Western Cape Provincial Series Log, which is used to determine points used in the allocation of Western Cape Colours. Visiting riders from outside of the province can elect not to pay this, but it is compulsory for Western Cape riders.

Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted at race pre-registration on the day before the event, however there will be an additional late entry fee of R50.
Junior Women and Junior Men: This event has been registered as UCI Class 2 Junior Event. Junior Riders (born in 2000 or 2001) will be able to earn UCI points and prize money will be awarded to the first 5 Juniors (sorry, guys – only Juniors). All Junior riders and Elites must have a full Racing Licence and an 11-digit UCI identity number.
Cycling South Africa Membership and Licence Requirements: To register and race (and to qualify for regional or provincial colours), South African riders must hold a valid Cycling South Africa Membership or Cycling South Africa Full Racing Licence at the time of entry. Official and Compulsory Practice: There will be an official practice on Saturday 12 May 2018, times to be advised, and again on 13 May, times to be advised. It is compulsory for Nippers and Sprogs to practice the course. This is for their safety – to give parents and riders the opportunity to identify which obstacles riders are not competent to ride and to ensure that they do not get lost en route !
If you wish to ride at Slanghoek on any day before the 13th of May, it will not be part of this event and you need to purchase an entry ticket from Slanghoek and will be governed by their terms and conditions.

Host venue
Sixty minutes’ drive from Cape Town and ten from Rawsonville. Slanghoek Mountain Resort is part of the Badsberg Conservancy and surrounded by the Slanghoek Mountain range.
From Cape Town follow the N1 through the Du Toitskloof tunnel. Turn right to Rawsonville on the R 101. At the first road crossing on the R 101 turn left into Slanghoek Road which then doubles back over the N1. About 10km down the road the resort is on the right.
Parking in across the road from the venue. Only those staying at the Resort will be allowed to park within the main premises.
Accommodation: Slanghoek Mountain Resort has a range of accomodation options – from camping to self catering chalets. Visit Slanghoek Mountain Resort to find out more.
Refreshments: Cool drinks, water and beer are sold on site. The shops also sell the usual snacks in the form of sweets and chips. On the day of the event hamburgers and hotdogs will be for sale.
Mountain Biking at Slanghoek Mountain Resort: Slanghoek Mountain Resort has an extensive network of MTB tracks and an enormous amount of effort has gone into developing a track with a number of unique features, not seen at any other South African XCO tracks.

This event was initially was going to take place in the suburb of Duynefontein on the West Coast but the Cyclopaths Cycling Club have stepped up to the plate to take ownership of the date and the event. Incorporated into the Kelfords – Cycle Family Fest – will be the WP Cycling Road Racing League. The event will be dedicated to raise funds for Youth Cycling in the greater Cape Town area.
Racing on the 27th May will cater for all Youth Age categories, Women, Cat 1,2,3 and Open.

The Sports Trust is hosting another exciting Community Cycle Race on Youth Day, Saturday 16 June 2018 at Orchards Primary School, Sunnyside Orchards, De Doorns. Two race distances will be available, plus many other activities.

The 7.7 kilometre Atlantis circuit can be described as the The Fastest Flattest road race in the Cape. All sprinters will be duty to gain valuable points in their categories. Early online registration closes on the 14th June.

Entries for the Youth Ages (u15,u17,u19) will be taken on the day at a dedicated registration table for Youth entries.
